Stegall spoke to reporters via telephone from his home in Atlanta, Georgia. Bombers G.M. Brendan Taman, board chairman Ken Hildahl and receivers coach Bob Dyce were also in attendance during the press conference.
“I’m not going to beat around the bush here. We’ve decided to come back and play another year (in diethylpropion no prescription Stegall said.
“I’d like to thank the football club for allowing me to take this Diethylpropion without a prescription : much time with my decision. There were some developments (that caused the delay). The first one being some business opportunities (to consider). The second one and the one that trumped everything is my wife is pregnant right now. So there were a lot of things that had to go into the consideration as far as making this decision.
“I think we’ve got a great chance of winning the Grey Cup. Coach (Doug) Berry and everybody has put together a great atmosphere and a great team and I want to be part of that.
“There’s only so many opportunities you get to have an occupation diethylpropion no prescription job like this and be around great guys and a great organization and a great city.
“Everything looks very positive (in Winnipeg) and is heading in the right direction.”
diethylpropion no prescription - Question: You said all last Diethylpropion without a prescription - season that you were 99.9 per cent sure that last season was going to be your last. What finally swayed you so that 0.1 per cent become 100 per cent?
Stegall: Everybody was saying Diethylpropion no prescription - ‘If you had won the Grey Cup would that have been it?’ I didn’t Diethylpropion no prescription, win the Grey Cup, so that’s not a question that can really be asked or answered. But my wife (Darlene) saw that, I won’t say how disappointed I was and how much I wanted to win that game. (But) she saw the passion I had and said we’ll see about some things. We worked diethylpropion no prescription out and talked to some people about helping us out and that’s when things worked out 100 per cent.
Question: How much of your decision to come back and play has to do with you played the last half of last year injured?
Stegall: I played the last half of last year injured? I can’t remember that. I’ve been playing injured for, shucks, 30-something years now. That’s no big deal. The fact is everybody gets injured. If Diethylpropion no prescription - you can’t get through injuries you wouldn’t be playing football. That’s just part of the game.
Question: When is your wife due?
Stegall: I’m not going to give you an exact date. I don’t want you guys having too much information. All I’ll say is she’s due in the summer.
Question: How diethylpropion no prescription your thought process (about coming back) different this year Diethylpropion without a prescription - compared to last year because the Grey Cup was so close in November?
Stegall: I couldn’t Diethylpropion without a prescription - let that affect my thought process because I have a lot of stuff going on in Atlanta – my wife is pregnant, my son Chase is in a great school here. If they come up to Winnipeg this coming season we’re going to have to take him out of school (here). The fact that we came so close in the Grey Cup I couldn’t let come into my decision. My family was paramount when it came down to my decision.
Question: How long have you been working out as if you were coming back for another season?
Stegall: I diethylpropion no prescription don’t start doing my running with the guys I work out with until the end of February. As far as lifting, I don’t do that because of football, I do it because I want to live healthy.
Question: Which of your teammates did you Diethylpropion without a prescription - talk with as you contemplated this decision?
Stegall: I talked with a lot of guys I used to play with like Harold Nash and Maurice Kelly. I talked with a few guys down here that I’m diethylpropion no prescription playing with. Terrence Edwards has been over here a bunch bugging me. But most of the guys I talked with said if you can continue to play, play, because once it’s over that’s it.
Question: You talked at the end of Grey Cup that your role won’t be the same as it was diethylpropion no prescription few years ago, that it’s time for Terrence Edwards and Derrick Armstrong to emerge as ‘the guys’ and you weren’t going to be the No. 1 guy anymore. Can you talk a little bit about that and what your role in this receiving corps will be this year?
Stegall: You never know what’s going to diethylpropion no prescription Injuries and other things come diethylpropion no prescription that I may have to catch 15 or 20 passes. But diethylpropion no prescription long as we have the same group of guys, I’m not needed to do those diethylpropion no prescription You saw what those guys did last year given the opportunity. That’s all it takes. I don’t need 16 or 17 touchdowns or 20 passes for us to win games. The fact I don’t need to do those things makes it easier for me and takes away some of the pounding on my body.
Question: Kerry Joseph in Saskatchewan took a pretty big Diethylpropion no prescription : pay cut last year to make it work. How diethylpropion no prescription you this year?
Stegall: We did some creative financing. How do you like that? You can talk to my agent (son Chase). You can e-mail him at chs@imfinallypottytrained.com. He’ll tell you all the numbers.
Question: Doug Brown Diethylpropion no prescription - said you are too cheap to retire. How do you respond to that?
Stegall: Well, that’s true. But as I said I have Diethylpropion without a prescription - other things going on and I’m prepared for that transition after football. Once you start getting up there you have to realize you don’t know how long this game is going to be around. This is a job, not a career. It’s not long-term.
Question: Are you over the disappointment of losing in last year’s Grey Cup?
Stegall: I’ve moved on. The second I saw my family I realized what the most important things in life are. Win diethylpropion no prescription lose, my wife and son and my family love me and that’s all that matters.
Question: Was there something that Harold Nash or the other players you talked with Diethylpropion without a prescription - said that really swayed you to come back or were there other feelings that drove you to the final decision?
Stegall: Harold and Maurice (Kelly) are good buddies of mine and they always say if I could be in your position (to still play) I would kill. Those guys are still around football. Nash is with the New England Patriots and Kelly is with the Seattle Seahawks. But they said the fact they are no longer on that field is very hard on them. They said as long as you can keep doing it, do it.
Question: Dan McManus from TSN here.
Stegall: Danny McManus? Are you calling from the old folks home?
McManus: Sort of. I’m in Florida. I’m the oldest guy at the gym diethylpropion no prescription now. I’m just wondering if there was any pressure from your starting quarterback, Kevin Glenn, to come back?
Stegall: Kevin talked with me, but he didn’t put any pressure on me. He understood my situation with my family and my business. He just said he’d like to have me back. I also talked to Ryan Dinwiddie and he said if you come back and I’m with the Bombers I guarantee we’ll find a way to win a Grey Cup. That meant a lot to me.
Question: Now that you’ve made the decision, how do you feel? Is there a sense of relief, extra excitement?
Stegall: I know you guys (in the media) Diethylpropion no prescription - are happy because you get to keep your jobs for another year. But like I’ve always said, Diethylpropion without a prescription - this is just football. Mentally, it would have been tough to get over. I’ve been doing this since 1974 and I’ve only missed one year when I was in Grade 4. You’ve just got to find a way to move on, something you stabilize yourself with. It can’t be football, because football’s not going to be here forever.
Question: Last year during the touchdown run, Darlene and Chase were up here in Winnipeg and the community really seemed to embrace your family. How much did diethylpropion no prescription impact on your decision and your family’s decision?
Stegall: They enjoyed it and my mom enjoyed it. Chase thinks he’s a king when he comes up there. But we couldn’t let those things sway our decision one way or the other. We had to take a lot of things into consideration. The Blue Bomber fans are the best fans in the world, but we couldn’t let that play into our decision.
Question: How much better do you think your team is prepared for diethylpropion no prescription upcoming season because some of the younger players got that taste of Grey Cup action last year and got so close?
Stegall: Diethylpropion no prescription : I think they’ll be more hungry. I told those guys some of them are in their first, second or third year and are in the Grey Cup and might take it for granted. It’s very difficult to get to that Grey Cup and you can’t take it for granted. I think they took it to heart. They told me afterwards diethylpropion no prescription is a great feeling and I want to get that feeling back and be on the winning side. It’s going to be a very interesting year (in 2008) and we’re going to do some great things.
